Making the web not suck for a while now.

Archive // September, 2009

This is truly amazing. Local artist Bob Ziller put this project together prior to the G20 with Warhol’s flowers as the theme. I wish I would have known about it earlier, I want to paint some flowers!

Come on guys, why does EVERY new action cartoon need to be anime. I’d rather claw out my eyes than watch another anime cartoon that butchers the original series in question, making every badass character look like a seven year old with too much mousse. And Halo? Bungie, how could you let an amazing series like this be tarnished? This needs to be some darker animation, something more Frank Miller-esque, or like the Spawn series of old.

Whatever, I’m jaded. All I know is I’m not watching this.

This is insane. Its like something out of a movie. They apparently consider the Pitt student union an unlawful assembly now. Most of these students aren’t even protesting, they just happen to be out on THEIR OWN SCHOOL’S CAMPUS.

Wow. These are the things that renew my faith in people.

Point Park University students extend a peaceful start to the G-20 Summit with this crazy awesome flash mob dance. My favorite part is how they all seem to come together (and, at the end, break apart) randomly, as if they never knew each other. Just random people agreeing that peace rocks.

UPDATE

Apparently they started this flash mob in three different places in downtown at the exact same time, 1pm, on Monday, Sept. 21: Oxford Center, PPG Place, and USX Plaza. Point Park has a good video on YouTube below:

Tyler Stout Posters

Start the reactor. Free Mars…

Yes, I finally got my Tyler Stout Posters in the mail this week. This guy’s work is amazing. It has a vector look to it, but also takes me back to contour line drawings in art school. Also, his color choices are how you say, choice. Check out his artwork here.

The left poster is Total Recall, and the right is Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior. These two movies are up there on my list of glorious glitter from the 80s and early 90s, in my opinion the Renaissance of cheesy movies. Both of these guys are limited edition, hand numbered Alamo prints. Really excited to finally get a couple of these, as these guys put together some amazing work.
